This piece was inspired by my native Hawaiian heritage.
I discovered that I was native Hawaiian around 12 years old, I grew up in the Pacific Northwest, never knowing about my culture.
I never felt like I had a place to belong.
Until I met my Ohana, until I stepped foot onto Hawaiian soil.
A connection so deep, so profound, so magestic.
Emoceans coursing through my veins like the most familiar melody, the sweet song in my heart.
The whispers of my kūpuna in the wind, I feel them, I hear them.
Forever calling me home.
